Katelyn Reid Stinson is a dedicated public service professional with a strong background in municipal government, communications, and community engagement. Currently serving as the Assistant to the City Manager, City Clerk, and Public Information Officer for the City of Marion, she plays a vital role in ensuring efficient city operations, fostering transparency, and enhancing public outreach.
Katelyn earned her Master of Science in Strategic and Digital Communication from the University of Tennessee in 2023 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Parks and Recreation Management from Western Carolina University. She also holds dual Associate degrees in Science and Arts from Western Piedmont Community College.
Prior to her current role, Katelyn worked as a Senior Marketing Executive at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino, where she led VIP guest experiences and loyalty initiatives. She also served as a Financial Services Officer III at the North Carolina State Employees’ Credit Union, assisting members with personal financial solutions and loan services.
Her commitment to professional development includes coursework through the UNC School of Government and specialized training in municipal operations, public engagement, and government transparency. Katelyn is also a certified Notary Public and actively involved in community service through the Rotary Club of Marion, the North Carolina Guardian Ad Litem program, and various local committees.
