The public is always welcome to attend Council meetings. Individuals who want to speak to Council about an issue must sign up to make a public comment by 6:05 p.m. the day of the meeting. Public comments are typically taken near the beginning of the meeting agenda. The public is encouraged to contact the City Manager at 828-652-3551 to arrange to appear on the City Council agenda, but is not required to do so. Special meetings of City Council are held periodically and announced in accordance with State law. Meeting schedules are advertised on the City’s website.
