The Purchasing Department is responsible for the purchasing and warehousing of supplies for the different City departments. The City has a centralized purchasing system which provides for purchase of items used by all City departments. Items are purchased in large quantities to take advantage of savings. Items are stored at the warehouse and resold in smaller quantities to departments needing such items. Purchase of items to be resold is performed through the City’s Internal Service Fund, which is designed to be self-supporting.
The Purchasing Department also handles City contracts, procurement of services, and assists departments with preparing informal and formal bid notices.
The Purchasing Department is composed of the Purchasing Agent and a Warehouse Clerk. Brenda Williams serves as the City’s Purchasing Agent.
Vendors are seen at the City Warehouse by appointment.
The City sells surplus property through the on-line auction sevice, GovDeals. Please visit www.govdeals.com to see items listed for sale.
