The Finance Department is responsible for administering the City's financial policies and procedures, maintaining the City's sound financial condition, collection of revenues and tax billing, and directing the City personnel and insurance activities.
The Finance Department consists of the Finance Director, Accounting Assistant, Personnel Technician, Tax Collector, and Collections Clerks. These personnel perform financial management functions including financial accounting, investments, payroll, maintenance of personnel records, hiring, revenue collections, and financial reporting to the City Manager, department heads, and State and Federal agencies.
The City manages several grant projects and capital projects outside the annual budget.
The Finance Department works with the City’s auditors each year in the preparation of financial statements and the annual audit.
Water and sewer bills must be received in City Hall by the 15th of the month, or a late fee is applied. If bills are not paid by the 25th of the month, a cut-off fee is applied, and service is disconnected. Bills may be mailed, paid in City Hall inside or at the drive-through window, or placed in the drop box outside City Hall.
