Collection/Distribution Technician

The City of Marion is accepting applications for a Collection/Distribution Technician
in our Water Utilities Dept.  Employee will work as a member of a crew engaged in the construction, installation, and repair of water and sewer lines and related appurtenances.  Work involves operation of construction equipment and tools, considerable lifting, and medium to heavy physical activity.  A valid NC driver’s license is required.  A CDL must be obtained within a specified period of time, at the expense of the employee.  Pre-employment drug, fitness for duty, and background check(s) will be required.  Week-end call duty is required on a monthly rotation.  Experience preferred.  Possession of NC Distribution Certification A, B, or C or NC Collection Certification 1 or 2 preferred.  Qualified applicants may apply directly at City Hall @ 194 N Main St., Marion.  Open until filled.  The City of Marion is an equal opportunity employer.
